I’m a small town Kentucky girl who fell in love with cinema watching Hitchcock and Wilder on Turner Classic Movies. Now I make twisty genre films about badass Southern Black women, misfits and antiheroes. I'm also a festival director for the Black Auteur Film Festival.
In addition to screening my films at festivals across the country, my screenplays have been shortlisted at Nicholl, Sundance Labs, Austin Film Festival, CBS Mentoring Program, Cinestory, Launchpad, Screencraft, and WeScreenplay. My thespian-themed horror short story, "The Method," was published in the book: Haunted Reels, Volume 2 (on sale now!). My non-fiction work has been featured in Ms. Magazine and Austin Free Press. I've also been honored to receive the Austin Film Society Short Film Grant, Black Art Matters Grant, City of Austin's Elevate Grant, and Vanishing Angle Post Grant. My feature script Bluegrass Radio was one of only three selected for Austin Film Society's prestigious Artist Intensive. And I'm a three-time AFF panelist (see you there in October?!).

I’m influenced by the independent films of the late 90s and early 2000s. As a born and raised Austintine, I would spend my weekends at the Dobie Mall theater on the UT Campus watching whatever obscure films they were showing at the time. These films hit my heart in ways mainstream movies weren’t and I saw myself in a lot of the characters up on the screen.
I began my career working crew on Robert Rodriguez and Richard Linklater sets and other network television shows in town. Later, I turned my focus to screenwriting and directing, creating grounded stories exploring the dark corners of familial relationships.
My projects have been shortlisted for the Nicholl Fellowship, Sundance Screenwriters Lab, and the Screencraft Film Fund.
